Biotech Boom at the University of Georgia
The Center for Applied Genetic Technologies has opened its doors at the University of Georgia. The $28 million, 40,000-sf facility will accommodate animal and plant science researchers and includes a 20,000-sf biotech incubator, the Georgia BioBusiness Center.
Center For Advanced Medicine Planned for Brigham and Women's Hospital
The Brigham and Women's Hospital is planning a $175 million, 350,000-sf ambulatory care facility--the Center for Advanced Medicine--in Boston slated for completion in spring of 2005. The 10-story building will house clinical and administrative space, providing state-of-the-art care and specialty services to adult outpatients. Included in the project is a 300-car below-grade parking facility.
San Francisco State University Opens Oakland Multimedia Center
San Francisco State University is expanding in the East Bay, leasing 29,676-sf for its Oakland Multimedia Center. The facility will host multimedia training classes in the evenings and will serve as a conference center by day.
Computer History Museum To Build in NASA Research Park
The Computer History Museum is planning a 41,000-sf facility near Mountain View in the NASA Research Park, a shared-used R&D campus proposed for Moffett Federal Airfield. Housing a large collection of computing artifacts, the Museum would open a temporary "Beta Building" in summer of 2002 with completion of the permanent facility slated for 2005.
Three-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals Relocates Headquarters
Three-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals has relocated its corporate headquarters from Exton to 20,500-sf of office space in Lower Makefield, a site conveniently located between the firm's 40,000-sf research space in Exton and its newly-expanded 42,500-sf research facility in Cranbury, N.J. The biopharmaceutical company is also planning to convert 10,000 sf of its Exton site from office to laboratory space.
