Cisco Builds in New Hampshire

Cisco Systems, based in San Jose, Calif., has plans to manufacture fiber-optic gear in Salem, N.H. Cisco will convert 674,000 sf of manufacturing and office space to a facility for testing, assembling, and distributing equipment for use in high-speed telecommunications networks.

Siemens Builds in RTP

Infineon Technologies, a division of the German company, Siemens A.G., opened a 11,000-sf design center in Research Triangle Park, N.C., in April. In the next two years, the semiconductor company plans to add a 5,000-sf development center to accommodate a production test lab as well as double its staff.

Dell Building in Nashville

Dell Computer Corp., based in Round Rock, Texas, is building a 300,000-sf computer manufacturing plant and a 300,000-sf facility for the company's sales and tech support operations at a site near Nashville International Airport. Completion is anticipated in summer 2000.

Tivoli Plans New Campus in Austin

Tivoli Systems Inc. plans to consolidate its 2,000 employees currently located in 10 Austin offices at a new 90-acre corporate campus. Tivoli has awarded the contract for the project's master plan to the Houston office of Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum (HOK). At build-out, the campus will feature more than one million sf of office space.

Redevelopment at Fort Sam Houston

Fort Sam Houston's historic Brooke Army Medical Center and the Beach pavilion Complex will be redeveloped by the U.S. Army working in partnership with the Pennsylvania firm Roy F. Weston Inc. as prime contractor. Local firms involved in the project are Orion Partners, Cross & Company and Ford, Powell & Carson.
