Cisco Systems, inc. is considering a 600,000-sf expansion consisting of office and research space at two sites in Boxborough. Cisco is also planning a 650,000-sf office complex in Littleton, Mass. The combined space at the three sites would approach 1.2 million sf, and would be built over a period of several years.

Cisco, based in San Jose, Calif., manufactures Internet equipment.

Polaroid Corp. has awarded Houston-based Enron Energy Services a contract for all energy management services at its seven major facilities in the US. The 10-year, $200 million contract includes energy commodity requirements and infrastructure improvements, as well as all operation and maintenance at the company's three Masssachusetts manufacturing plants.

AlphaGary Corp., based in Leominster, Mass., has finished construction of a new plastics compounding plant in Meloton Mowbray, Leicester, doubling the company's manufacturing capacity in the UK. A segregated area at the new plant will produce medical device and regulated packaging compounds.

Amgen has awarded J.C. Higgins Corp. of Boston a $7.6 million contract for mechanical installation at its new 360,000-sf Biotechnology Center--an eight-story research lab and bio-medical building--in Cambridge.

Nortel Networks has finished renovating its 76,000-sf office and R&D facility in Andover. The $1.7 million project was carried out by Spaulding & Slye Colliers of Boston.
