White Plains Hospital Expands in New York

White Plains Hospital is expanding and renovating its New York campus. Phase Two of the hospital's $108 million capital transformation campaign began in October of 2013. Designed by Perkins Eastman, the project will provide a six-story patient care building with two medical/surgical floors and 24 private patient rooms; a five-room surgical suite; an expanded radiology department; and a front entrance and lobby. Phase Two comprises 42,000 sf of new construction and 22,000 sf of renovation. Completion is expected in 2015.

Carthage College Initiates Science Center Expansion and Renovation

Carthage College will begin construction in spring of 2014 on a $45 million upgrade of its science center in Kenosha, Wis. The 70,000-sf Center for Natural and Social Sciences will be renovated and a new 35,000-sf wing will be constructed. Built by Riley Construction, the project will provide collaborative teaching and research space and will feature a two-story glass atrium. Completion is expected in fall of 2015.

Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital Opens in Birtinya

The $105 million Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital will open in November of 2013 in Birtinya, Queensland. Providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, the 200-bed hospital will provide six operating rooms, a cardiac catheterization lab, a day surgery unit, ICU, a procedure room, an eight-bed day oncology unit, medical offices, imaging, pathology, and entirely private patient rooms. The facility is located on a shared campus with the $2 billion Sunshine Coast University Public Hospital which is currently under construction.

New York City College of Technology Breaks Ground on Academic Complex

The New York City College of Technology broke ground on a 365,000-sf academic complex in October of 2013. The eight-story facility will provide laboratories, classrooms, faculty offices, clinics, and support spaces to enhance the College’s health and science curriculum in radiology, dental hygiene, nursing, biological sciences, biomedical research, chemistry, restorative dentistry, and vision care.

Dartmouth College Builds Williamson Translational Research Building

Dartmouth College is building the $116.5 million Williamson Translational Research Building in Lebanon, N.H. Located on the campus of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, the six-story, 165,000-sf facility will provide collaborative research space for the Geisel School of Medicine. The project will house advanced research laboratories, the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice, and a pathology lab. The Dartmouth SYNERGY program will also be headquartered in the building.
