University of Tennessee Medical Center Breaks Ground on Cancer Facility

The University of Tennessee Medical Center broke ground on a four-story, 100,000-sf cancer facility in Knoxville in July of 2011. The $24 million project will consolidate outpatient cancer services in a single location, including radiation oncology therapy suites and a linear accelerator. Completion is expected in early 2013.

Salisbury University Completes Perdue School of Business

Salisbury University completed construction of the $55 million Perdue School of Business in July of 2011 in Salisbury, Md. The 112,800-sf facility includes a technology-rich 207-seat lecture hall and specialized laboratories for market research, financial research, enterprise systems, and advanced information studies. The building also houses 24 classrooms and an atrium. Ground was broken on the project in September of 2009.

University of Utah Expands Neuropsychiatric Institute

The University of Utah is engaged in a $46 million expansion of the Neuropsychiatric Institute in Salt Lake City. The 115,000-sf project will provide additional research space, 72 private patient rooms, a clinical assessment center, and a Siemens 3 Tesla MRI suite. Completion is expected in fall of 2011.

University of Wyoming Plans Performing Arts Facility

The University of Wyoming is planning to build a $32.4 million performing arts facility in Laramie. Comprising 120,000 sf of renovated space and a 51,900-sf addition, the project will provide offices, teaching labs, studios, and performance spaces. Completion is expected in November of 2013. LEED Silver sustainable design certification will be sought for the project.
