Cabot Microelectronics Opens South Korea R&D Facility
Cabot Microelectronics opened its 56,000-sf R&D facility in September of 2011 in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Located near Seoul, the $13 million project will support research, development, and production of advanced dielectric and CMP slurry products. Cabot Microelectronics is headquartered in Aurora, Ill.
Torrance Memorial Medical Center Builds Replacement Tower
Torrance Memorial Medical Center is building a $300 million replacement tower in Torrance, Calif. Construction began on the facility in February of 2010 with completion expected in November of 2014. The project team includes HMC Architects and McCarthy Building Companies.
AllCells Opens Shanghai Bioprocessing Facility
AllCells opened its new bioprocessing center in Shanghai in September of 2011. Located in Ju Ke Park, the 10,000-sf facility houses GMP cell culture rooms, labs, offices, and production space.
Pfizer Expands in Cambridge
Pfizer will occupy over 180,000 sf of leased space in a building owned by MIT in Cambridge's Kendall Square. The facility will support cardiovascular, metabolic, and endocrine disease research. Occupancy is expected in late 2013.
New River Community and Technical College Breaks Ground on Raleigh County Campus
New River Community and Technical College broke ground on the 73,000-sf Raleigh County Campus and Central Administration Building in September of 2011. Located in Beaver, W.V., the $17.5 million facility will be built as two wings joined by an atrium, which will house student services, administrative offices, a cafe, and interaction space. One wing will provide teaching labs and classrooms and the other wing will house the 1,800-sf Allied Health facility. The project was designed by E.T.
