Good Samaritan Hospital Constructs Neuroscience ICU
Good Samaritan Hospital initiated a $30 million renovation of its San Jose campus in April of 2011. Located on two floors in the North Tower, the project includes construction of a neuroscience ICU and approximately 50 private inpatient rooms.
St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center Builds Critical Care Tower
St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center is building a $120 million critical care tower in Paterson, N.J. The four-story facility will provide 56 intensive care rooms, 12 operating rooms, a rooftop helipad, and a 100,000-sf emergency department with 89 treatment bays. Occupancy is expected in September of 2011.
University of Nottingham Plans Energy Technologies Building
The University of Nottingham has awarded Clegg Construction a $10.3 million contract to build the Energy Technologies Building. The project team includes architect Maber, structural engineer Price & Myers, and mechanical and electrical engineer Aecom. Located in Innovation Park, the 26,910-sf project will include laboratories, offices, a prototype hall, an exhibition area, and a user facility for energy testing.
Lockheed Martin Opens Huntsville Integrated Test Center
Lockheed Martin opened the Huntsville Integrated Test Center (HIT) in March of 2011. Ground was broken on the 21,000-sf building in June of 2010. The facility houses testing laboratories for missile defense systems and includes two five-axis motion simulators with infrared scene generators. The general contractor was Joe Still Construction. A second phase of construction will provide laboratories for systems integration and missile integration.
Boeing Constructs Avionics Facility
Boeing began building a second avionics facility in Oklahoma City in March of 2011. The six-story, 320,000-sf building is slated for occupancy in mid-2012. The design-build contractor for the facility is Gardner Tanenbaum Group. Boeing is headquartered in St. Louis.
