Purdue University Plans Drug Discovery Facility
Purdue University is planning to construct the $20 million Drug Discovery Facility in West Lafayette, Ind. Construction is expected to begin in summer of 2011 with completion in spring of 2013. The facility will replace existing space in the Wetherill Laboratory of Chemistry.
Cameron Memorial Community Hospital Builds Angola Facility
Cameron Memorial Community Hospital is planning to construct a 130,000-sf healthcare facility in Angola, Ind. The $40 million building will include 25 inpatient beds in private rooms. The project team includes architect Morrison, Kattman & Menze and general contractor Hagerman Inc.
University of Manitoba Constructs Art and Research Technology Laboratory Building
The University of Manitoba broke ground in June of 2010 on the $30 million Art and Research Technology Laboratory Building in Winnipeg. Occupancy is expected in fall of 2011. The facility will house the university’s fine arts masters programs and graduate research space.
Saint Luke's Hospital Dedicates Women's Center
Saint Luke’s Hospital dedicated its new Women’s Center in Kansas City in June of 2010. Comprising two adjacent facilities, the project includes the Ellen Hockaday Center for Women’s Care and the Muriel I. Kauffman Women’s Heart Center. Providing imaging suites, maternal and fetal care, and urogynecology services, the Women’s Center is part of a $330 million master construction plan that includes a new patient tower housing Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart and Vascular Institute.
Loma Linda University Opens Rehabilitation Hospital
Loma Linda University opened its $32 million rehabilitation hospital in late May of 2010. The 24-bed facility features 476-sf patient rooms to support recovery from amputations or serious brain and spinal cord injuries. The hospital also provides therapy suites and equipment. A mock-up town square where patients can practice daily activities will also be constructed at the site.
