Designed by LMN Architects with Research Facilities Design (RFD) as laboratory design consultant, the 204,750-sf facility houses the Samueli School of Engineering, the Donald Bren School of Information & Computer Science, and the School of Physical Sciences.

Ferris State University Plans Center for Virtual Learning

Ferris State University will begin construction in May of 2021 on the $29.5 million Center for Virtual Learning in Big Rapids, Mich. Designed by Stantec, the 64,000-sf facility will provide a centralized home for the university's online education activities. Accommodating current and future advances in virtual learning approaches, the project will feature unique adaptable environments for digital content creation and instruction.

University of California, Santa Barbara Opens Institute for Energy Efficiency

The University of California, Santa Barbara opened the $56 million Henley Hall in December of 2020. Housing the Institute for Energy Efficiency, the three-story, 50,280-gsf (29,292-asf) structure provides 17 research labs with a combination of wet and dry modalities, a 124-seat lecture hall, conference rooms, collaborative breakout areas, and faculty and administrative offices.

Hackensack Meridian Health Constructs Theurer Pavilion

Hackensack Meridian Health is constructing the $714 million Helena Theurer Pavilion at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. Designed by RSC Architects and EYP Architecture & Engineering, the nine-story, 530,000-gsf facility will accommodate 150 medical/surgical beds in private rooms, 24 technology-rich operating rooms, and a 50-bed orthopedic center. Stantec is the project manager and owner's representative for the 438,000-asf project, which is being built by a joint venture of W.M.

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology Constructs Health Science Education Center

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology is building a $110 million academic tower in Harrisburg, Pa. Housing the Health Sciences Education Center, the 11-story, 210,000-sf facility will offer classrooms and auditoria for programs in nursing, allied health, and pharmaceutical sciences, as well as instructional spaces for courses in advanced manufacturing and interactive media. The project team includes design architect Stantec and general contractor Whiting-Turner. Occupancy is expected in January of 2023.
