Published 4/13/2004

Scripps/University Biotech Consortium is planning to build a Florida Universities and Scripps East Research Consortium Center adjacent to its planned 364,000-sf facility in Palm Beach County. Sited on 150 acres, the first phase of the $10 million, 15,000-gsf project includes design and construction of a campus gateway, a central utility plant, a large reception area, office suites, and meeting rooms.

Serving as the administrative support facility for the campus, the project will include 8,000-gsf housing two 20-seat conference rooms and 7,000 gsf of classroom-style meeting rooms. Multiple universities may have a presence at the center, which will promote collaboration and research with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in the area. Phase two will add another 30,000 gsf and will feature a 300-seat auditorium equipped with projection video, surround sound, Internet connections, video conferencing capability, fully equipped laboratories, office space, and ancillary and support space.
