University of Manchester Constructs Henry Royce Institute for Materials Science and Innovation

The University of Manchester began construction in December of 2017 on the £235 million Henry Royce Institute for Materials Science and Innovation in the United Kingdom. Designed by NBBJ, the nine-story, 172,000-sf facility will provide sophisticated laboratories and instrumentation suites to promote collaborative research and development with industry partners. The project team includes general contractor Laing O’Rourke, project manager Arcadis, building services engineer Arup, and civil and structural engineering consultant Ramboll. Completion is expected in early 2020. The construction cost of the facility is estimated at £150 million.
