Xavier University and TriHealth broke ground in December of 2017 on the Health United Building in Cincinnati. Designed by MSA Architects, the four-story, 160,300-sf project will include a 104,400-sf fitness and recreation center with a four-lane pool, three exercise studios, three basketball courts, a gym, and a café. The complex will also house the 46,100-sf Health Sciences Academic Building, which will offer 11 classrooms, five nursing simulation labs, three clinical skills labs, three occupational therapy labs, and two sports studies labs. Lastly, a 9,800-sf student health and counseling center will provide 10 exam rooms, seven counseling offices, and a pharmacy. Messer Construction is the general contractor and completion is expected in fall of 2019. LEED Gold sustainable design certification will be sought for the facility.
