Exicure, a clinical-stage biotechnology firm, has leased 30,000 sf in The Labs in Chicago. Accommodating headquarters and research operations relocated from Skokie, Ill., the facility will accelerate the creation of innovative therapies for genetic disorders, inflammatory diseases, and cancer.
Developed by Sterling Bay, The Labs is a 120,000-sf structure in Lincoln Park that previously housed the Lurie Children's Hospital. The five-story building was renovated to provide leading-edge environments for life science, biopharma, and medtech tenants. Featuring a robust 24/7 HVAC system, reverse osmosis water, and a loading bay with a three-ton hydraulic lift, the facility offers secure wet lab environments, sophisticated conference rooms, incubator graduation space, and shared workplace amenities. Sterling Bay is also planning to begin construction in 2020 on the $6 billion Lincoln Yards campus.
