NASA Glenn Research Center opened the Research Support Building in July of 2022 in Cleveland. Designed by TEN Arquitectos and ASA as a vibrant nexus of interaction and innovation, the two-story, 64,000-sf facility provides collaborative engineering suites, open and private offices, conference rooms, and training areas. Accommodating approximately 164 employees, the flexible and inclusive development features a communal dining area as well as a 6,000-sf outdoor commons. Walsh Construction Company broke ground in September of 2018 and delivered the sustainably designed project for a contract value of $32.7 million. The LEED Gold facility leverages highly efficient mechanical and electrical systems to achieve superior energy performance, with extensive glazing transmitting natural light to interior spaces. The Research Support Building represents the second phase of NASA Glenn’s master plan to revitalize its core campus by renovating or replacing aging structures.
