The Ohio State University broke ground in January of 2024 on the $52 million Multispecies Animal Learning Center in Columbus. Designed by Wellogy, the 100,000-sf facility will provide the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences with a dynamic hub for training and research. State-of-the-art classrooms and demonstration areas will support a progressive pedagogy of experiential education, augmented by a series of interconnecting barns with specialized housing for swine, sheep, goats, cattle, horses, and poultry. Flexible wet labs will accelerate the discovery of new solutions for animal health, and a modern dairy will be constructed to showcase innovative production technologies including a robotic milking system. Fostering public engagement and workforce development, the center will also house an arena, interactive exhibits, and space for K-12 programs.

Located on the campus of the Waterman Agricultural and Natural Resources Laboratory, the project includes the installation of new site utilities and the replacement of aging systems for animal waste processing and stormwater management. CK Construction Group is acting as general contractor with occupancy slated for fall of 2025.
