Siemens Technology Center Garching

Siemens AG opened an innovation complex in April of 2024 that will consolidate its corporate research activities in Germany. The 140,000-sf facility was created in partnership with Technical University of Munich and is strategically sited in the institution’s science park. Siemens Technology Center Garching supports 450 engineers working in collaboration with 150 academic investigators to advance industrial artificial intelligence and data analytics. State-of-the-art labs are complemented by modern workspaces, conference rooms, and training areas. A flexible lecture hall can be divided to support a variety of functions, while a public foyer offers a vibrant setting for presentations and events. Construction began in late 2021.

Featuring extensive photovoltaic arrays, the sustainable structure is targeting LEED Gold certification and integrates smart sensors, heat recovery technologies, and a geothermal system. Siemens Real Estate provided design and construction services for the project. A subsequent phase of development at the site will deliver a second complex housing over 630 Siemens investigators and IP specialists, bringing the company’s investment in the site to approximately €100 million. Completion is expected in 2027.
