Yale New Haven Hospital is constructing the Adams Neurosciences Center on its Saint Raphael Campus in New Haven. Integrating research, clinical care, and medical education, the $838 million facility was designed by Shepley Bulfinch to set a new benchmark for neurological care in Connecticut. The two-tower, 505,000-sf complex will feature translational research laboratories for the creation of new therapies for Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and strokes. Advanced suites for neuroimaging and surgery will be accompanied by inviting areas for rehabilitation.

Offering 204 new impatient beds, the welcoming center will include a shared courtyard for both pedestrian and vehicular access. An outdoor café terrace will provide a shaded, contemplative setting for respite, complemented by a fourth-floor healing garden with a fountain encircled by pedestrian pathways.

Built by Turner Construction, the transformative development will enable Yale New Haven Hospital to rebalance operations between its two campuses and optimize the delivery of seamless care. Mechanical Solutions, Inc. (MSI) and Grimswold Controls are lending their expertise to the project, with Tighe & Bond performing site planning, permitting, and construction phase services. Occupancy is anticipated in 2027.
