Sutter Health broke ground in January of 2026 on the Advanced Cancer Center and Care Complex in Modesto, Calif. Designed by HGA, the approximately $380 million project is part of a strategic multiyear commitment to increase the availability of innovative, high-quality services in the Central Valley. The four-story, 165,000-sf facility is being created in collaboration with Gould Medical Group and will offer both outpatient and specialty care in a single integrated location on the Memorial Medical Center campus.

Occupying the first two stories, the Cancer Center will include consultation rooms, infusion and radiation therapy suites, a lab, a pharmacy, complementary therapy venues, and access to clinical trials. Centralized, all-inclusive services will optimize health outcomes by uniting leading-edge diagnostic and treatment modalities in a patient-centric environment. Advanced imaging instrumentation such as GE HealthCare's AI-powered technologies will be complemented by sophisticated capabilities for molecular testing, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. The third level will house an ambulatory surgery center with four operating rooms, four procedure rooms, and space for future expansion. An outpatient hub on the top floor will feature more than 50 exam rooms that will be utilized by over 25 clinicians.

DPR Construction is the general contractor for the development, which is slated for occupancy in 2029.
