Mary Kay Occupies Gwinnett County Warehouse
Cosmetics manufacturer Mary Kay will occupy a 135,000-sf build-to-suit facility sited on 17 acres in the Shawnee Ridge business park in Gwinnett County, Ga. The warehouse will replace Mary Kay’s current 70,000-sf distribution warehouse in Duluth. The new facility is expected to reach completion in September 2004.
Bosch Leases Atlanta Distribution Center
Robert Bosch Corp., a subsidiary of German diversified manufacturer Bosch Group, has leased 250,000-sf in Atlanta’s 375,000-sf Westgate Distribution Center. Bosch will utilize the facility for distribution of both electronics and auto parts.
Boston College Plans St. Ignatius Gate Residence Hall
Boston College and Einhorn Yaffee Prescott, Architecture and Engineering of Boston have completed the design of the new $16.3 million St. Ignatius Gate Residence Hall in Chestnut Hill. The general contractor for the 100,000-sf facility is Walsh Brothers. The project is currently in the production phase and upon completion will house 322 students in four-, six-, and eight-person suites with study lounges and community gathering areas.
Micron Precision Expands in Charlotte
Manufacturer Micron Precision has purchased a 70,000-sf facility in Charlotte, N.C., where it will consolidate and expand its area operations.
Kaiser Expansion Features Decontamination Unit
Kaiser Santa Teresa opened its expanded $8 million emergency department in South San Jose on Dec. 3, 2003. Quadrupling the size of the previous ER, the 17,700-sf facility features private rooms, an increase in bed count from 14 to 25, a delivery room, and a decontamination unit. A spine surgery center will open at the hospital in spring of 2004. Kaiser is also planning a $3.6 million expansion of the hospital pharmacy slated for completion by 2005 that will increase the pharmacy’s footprint threefold.
