David Booth Memorial Kansas Stadium Opens in Lawrence
The University of Kansas opened the redeveloped David Booth Memorial Kansas Stadium in August of 2025, marking the completion of the first phase of the new Gateway District. Designed by HNTB and Multistudio as an inviting entrance to campus, the $448 million project elevates the fan experience with a restructured bowl layout offering improved sightlines and increased proximity to the field. Diverse premium seating options include ledge suites, loge boxes, and 2,300 club seats distributed across three social zones.
University of Kentucky Constructs Rankin Health Education Building
The University of Kentucky is constructing the $430 million Michael D. Rankin MD Health Education Building in Lexington to enhance community wellbeing by addressing provider shortages throughout the state. Expanding the university’s training capacity by up to 1,200 students, the 509,000-sf facility will strategically colocates programs in medicine, public health, nursing, and health sciences, as well as housing the Center for Interprofessional and Community Health Education.
University of Arkansas Opens Anthony Timberlands Center for Design and Materials Innovation
The University of Arkansas opened the Anthony Timberlands Center for Design and Materials Innovation in August of 2025 in Fayetteville. Designed by Grafton Architects and Modus Studio, the 44,763-sf facility will enable the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design to advance the discovery and development of innovative timber construction modalities. The six-story project features an 11,000-sf high bay zone for fabrication and design-build activities, connected to teaching spaces above by a central atrium.
Austin Peay State University Opens Health Professions Building
Austin Peay State University opened the $70 million Health Professions Building in August of 2025 in Clarksville, Tenn. Ayers Saint Gross and HASTINGS designed the the 114,600-sf facility to strategically colocate the School of Nursing and the departments of Allied Health Sciences, Health and Human Performance, Social Work, and Psychological Science and Counseling.
Oschner Health Plans Vibrant Destination for Sports Medicine
Oschner Health is planning to break ground in late 2025 on a comprehensive hub for health and wellness in Jefferson Parish. Designed by WHLC Architecture, the 46,000-sf complex will be anchored by personalized orthopedics and sports medicine care, as well as offering pediatric specialties, women’s services, physical therapy, and imaging and lab functionalities. A subsequent phase of construction may add outpatient surgical capabilities and expanded clinical services.
