GE Aviation Breaks Ground on Advanced Manufacturing Plant
GE Aviation broke ground on an advanced manufacturing facility for jet engine components on October 31, 2011. The 300,000-sf project is located in Auburn, Ala. Occupancy is expected in late 2012. The facility will support collaborative workforce development with Auburn University and Tuskegee University.
Utah State University's USTAR BioInnovations Center Attains LEED Gold
Utah State University’s USTAR BioInnovations Center was awarded LEED Gold sustainable design certification in October of 2011. The project team for the $60 million facility included AJC Architects and Gramoll Construction. The three-year project was completed within budget and ahead of schedule. Dedicated in October of 2010, the 118,000-sf building houses advanced life science research labs for several groups, including Synthetic BioManufacturing, Applied Nutrition Research, and Veterinary Diagnostics and Infectious Disease (VDID).
Huntsman Cancer Institute Dedicates Expansion

Camp Pendleton Naval Replacement Hospital Celebrates Topping Out
The joint venture design-build team of Clark Construction Group and McCarthy Building Companies has topped out the 500,000-sf Naval Replacement Hospital project at Camp Pendleton, having erected more than 4,000 tons of structural steel to reach the milestone.
Orebro University Hospital Builds Research and Teaching Facility
Orebro University Hospital has awarded NCC Construction Sweden a $38 million contract to build a research and teaching facility. The three-story, 124,861-sf building will house laboratories, instructional spaces, offices, a library, and a restaurant. Completion is expected in September of 2013.
