Bosch Opens Photovoltaics Competence Center
Bosch opened its photovoltaics competence center in July of 2011 in Arnstadt, Germany. The $757 million facility provides R&D and manufacturing space as well as housing the company’s solar energy division headquarters. The duration of construction was two years.
Baptist Medical Center and Wolfson Children's Hospital Construct Patient Tower
A 340,000-sf patient tower for Baptist Medical Center and Wolfson Children’s Hospital is under construction in Jacksonville, Fla. The 11-story project will provide both adult and pediatric services. The $200 million facility is slated for completion in December of 2012. The project team includes Stanley Beaman & Sears Architects, TLC Engineering, and Batson-Cook Construction.
Francis Marion University Opens Performing Arts Center
Francis Marion University opened its 61,000-sf performing arts center in Florence, S.C., in July of 2011. The facility includes an 850-seat auditorium, a 125-seat black box theater, classrooms, and offices for the fine arts department.
Semprius Plans Photovoltaic Manufacturing Facility
Semprius began construction in July of 2011 on a 150,000-sf photovoltaic manufacturing facility in Henderson, N.C. The first phase of the project includes renovation of an existing facility and construction of an additional 50,000 sf. Occupancy is expected in August of 2012. Semprius is based in Durham, N.C.
JSR Corporation Completes Korean R&D Facility
JSR Corporation completed construction of a $13 million R&D facility in July of 2011 in Seoul, Korea. The three-story, 43,000-sf project houses research laboratories for the creation of advanced liquid crystal display (LCD) products and technologies. Construction began on the facility in September of 2010.
