Carle Hospital Expands in Urbana
Carle Hospital will break ground in May of 2011 on a $220 million facility in Urbana, Ill. A nine-story, 390,000-sf tower will house the Carle Heart and Vascular Institute and 136 private inpatient rooms. Completion is expected in 2013.
Northeastern Ohio Medical University Breaks Ground on Research and Graduate Education Building
Northeastern Ohio Medical University broke ground on the $42 million Research and Graduate Education Building in May of 2011. The four-story, 80,000-sf facility will house laboratories for medical research and will include an 8,000-sf business incubator for biomedical companies. Completion is expected in early 2013. Northeastern Ohio Medical University is located in Rootstown Township.
Midwestern University Plans Medical Teaching Clinic
Midwestern University is planning to build a five-story medical and dental teaching clinic in Downers Grove, Ill. The 193,000-sf facility will accommodate up to 400 patient visits each day. A six-story, 341,000-sf parking structure will also be constructed. Occupancy is expected in 2014.
Exempla Saint Joseph Breaks Ground on Denver Hospital
Exempla Saint Joseph will break ground in May of 2011 on a $623 million hospital in Denver. The 826,000-sf facility will provide 348 beds. Occupancy is expected in December of 2014.
Princess Noura University Opens in Saudi Arabia
Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) opened in May of 2011 in Riyadh. Sited on 800 hectares, the campus includes 15 colleges, a 700-bed university hospital, and research centers for nanotechnology, biosciences, and information technology. PNU will officially open in 2012 as the largest women's university in the world.
