CPL Biologicals Completes Influenza Vaccine Plant

CPL Biologicals completed construction in June of 2010 on its vaccine manufacturing plant in Dholka, India. The 25,000-sf facility will utilize virus-like particle (VLP) technology to produce commercial-scale quantities of influenza vaccines. The plant will be able to produce over 60 million doses annually at full capacity. Ground was broken on the project in fall of 2009. CPL Biologicals is a joint venture of Novavax and Cadila Pharmaceuticals of India.

Cargill Plans Wichita R&D Center

Cargill is planning to build a $14.7 million R&D facility in Wichita, Kan. The building will house research labs, offices, and product development space. Cargill is an international producer and marketer of food, agricultural, financial, and industrial products and services.

University of Nevada Builds Reno Health Sciences Building

The University of Nevada is building the 57,814-sf William N. Pennington Health Sciences Building in Reno. Slated for completion in fall of 2011, the three-story facility will housing nursing and medical programs. The $48 million facility is being built by Sundt Construction of Tucson. Ground was broken on the project in December of 2009.

Huazhong University Opens Visdec Electronic Decision Theater

Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) opened the Visdec Electronic Decision Theater in June of 2010. The facility features 240 degrees of arced screens to support advanced visualization and simulation for technology-enhanced decision making. Huazhong University is located in Wuhan, China.

NuAire Releases Allergard 619 Animal Transfer Station

NuAire announced the release of the Allergard 619 animal transfer station (ATS) in June of 2010. The unit is ergonomic, portable, and energy efficient, and its lightweight design and caster base allow the Allergard 619 to go anywhere in the lab. The Allergard 619 ATS is the only animal transfer station to allow 10” legroom and 12” adjustable work surface height. A prop-up work tray, spill proof drip tray, built-in magnifying glass, touch-free hand sanitizer, and feed hoppers are just a few options the Allergard 619 Animal Transfer Station has to offer.
