Quinte Health Care Opens Charlotte Sills Wing

Quinte Health Care opened the $99.5 million Charlotte Sills Wing in February of 2010 in Belleville, Ontario. Construction began on the five-story facility in March of 2007. The wing houses outpatient care, a continuing care inpatient unit, a children’s treatment center, and clinics for rehabilitation and speech therapy. The project represents a 155,000-sf expansion of the existing hospital.

Idaho National Lab to Build Four Facilities

Idaho National Laboratory is planning to break ground in spring of 2010 on four new facilities in Idaho Falls. Creating an integrated complex, the buildings will include a research and education laboratory, a testing demonstration center, a second building for the Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES), and a cafeteria.

Auburn University Breaks Ground on MRI Research Center

Auburn University officially broke ground on its $21 million Magnetic Resonance Imaging Research Center on February 4, 2010. Designed by Perkins+Will, the 45,000-sf facility is slated for completion in September of 2010. The construction manager for the project is Brasfield & Gorrie LLC. The MRI Research Center will feature a Siemens Verio open-bore 3T MRI and an actively shielded whole-body 7T MRI. The Verio 3T MRI will be used for clinical and research applications and the 7T MRI will be dedicated solely to research.
