UT Health San Antonio Breaks Ground on Barshop Institute for Longevity & Aging Studies

University of Texas Health San Antonio broke ground in October of 2017 on the $70 million Barshop Institute for Longevity & Aging Studies. Promoting the integration of research with clinical care, the project will accelerate the translation of medical discoveries into new therapies for patient treatment. Designed by Alamo Architects, the three-story, 108,000-sf building will provide open research labs, lab support, administrative and faculty offices, and a vivarium. Vaughn Construction is the general contractor for the project, which has a construction cost of $52 million. Completion is expected in November of 2019.
