Virginia Commonwealth University and VCU Health broke ground in June of 2018 on a $349 million outpatient facility in Richmond. Designed by HDR, the 16-story, 603,000-sf project will provide a consolidated location for VCU Massey Cancer Center's outpatient services, as well as housing diagnostic labs, imaging suites, a rehabilitation center, and clinical space for orthopedics, pulmonology, urology, and gynecology. The technology-rich facility is the largest capital development in VCU Health's history and will include sophisticated collaboration spaces to support the institution's teaching and research missions. A 472,000-sf parking deck with 1,000 spaces will also be constructed. Hourigan Construction is the design-build contractor for the project, which will feature an exterior wall system created and installed by Ventana. The first $77.3 million phase of development is slated for completion in summer of 2020.
