The College of Southern Maryland is building the $31 million Center for Health Sciences in Hughesville, Md. Designed by Grimm & Parker as a flexible, forward-thinking facility, the 50,000-sf building will feature specialized teaching labs for programs including nursing, emergency medical services, health information management, medical laboratory technology, medical assisting, pharmacy technician, massage therapy, and rehabilitation. The center will also include a clinical simulation center, collaborative learning spaces, classrooms, a computer lab, faculty and staff offices, a student success suite, and a large multipurpose meeting room. LEED sustainable design certification will be sought for the project, which broke ground in August of 2019 and is slated for completion in March of 2021. Grimm & Parker also developed the master plan for the school's Regional Hughesville Campus.
