Texas A&M University broke ground in June of 2025 on the Linda & Dennis Clark ’68 Small Animal Teaching Hospital in College Station. Designed by Page and Foil Wyatt Architects and Planners, the $181 million project will provide the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (VMBS) with a translational hub for innovation that will contribute to the wellbeing of animals and humans alike. The 135,000-sf facility will deliver advanced patient care, elevate veterinary education, and drive groundbreaking research across 15 veterinary specialties. Located next to the current Small Animal Teaching Hospital, the new building will offer twice as many surgical suites and exam rooms, as well as adding further capacity for the Emergency Service and Intensive Care Unit.
Integrating learning and discovery with compassionate care, this destination for veterinary excellence will include sophisticated training environments to equip future practitioners with vital skills and competencies. The two-story structure will also provide areas for clinical trials, diagnostic imaging suites, and an onsite pharmacy. Setting a new benchmark for academic animal hospitals, the flexible development will enable VMBS to adapt to changing research programs and technological requirements for decades to come. Vaughn Construction is acting as general contractor, with occupancy expected in August of 2027.
