The University of Wisconsin-Madison opened a $267 million facility for the School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences in August of 2025. Designed by LMN Architects and Kahler Slater, Morgridge Hall will act as a beacon of innovation for the state’s growing tech industry while meeting an increased demand for programs in robotics, cybersecurity, software design, and machine learning. The seven-story, 343,000-sf building consolidates the departments of Computer Sciences, Statistics, Biostatistics and Medical Informatics, and the Information School, as well as housing the American Family Insurance Data Science Institute, the Center for High Throughput Computing, and the N+1 Institute.

The biophilic structure offers active learning classrooms, instructional labs, office environments, and student wellness amenities. Connecting vertically to all levels, a welcoming central atrium and flexible community space opens onto collaboration venues and specialized research hubs to promote intellectual collisions. Morgridge Hall is strategically sited near facilities for physics, chemistry, and engineering, creating a tech corridor that fosters connectivity between students, researchers, and corporate partners.

Aspiring to LEED Platinum certification, the sustainable development features photovoltaic installations, a rainwater recycling system, and green roof terraces. Findorff was the general contractor for the project, and the engineering team comprised Affiliated Engineers, Inc (AEI), Thornton Tomasetti, GRAEF, and IBC Engineering Services. Ground was broken in April of 2023.
