Air Products Builds Global Headquarters Complex
Industrial gas manufacturer Air Products is constructing its $400 million global headquarters in Lehigh Valley, Pa. Accommodating over 2,000 employees, the complex will provide a 525,000-sf administrative building, a world-class R&D center, and an enclosed parking structure. Designed to maximize the efficiency of the site, the nine-story office facility will occupy a smaller building footprint than Air Product's existing corporate headquarters.
Radford University Plans Center for Adaptive Innovation and Creativity
Radford University is planning to build the $97.8 million Center for Adaptive Innovation and Creativity in Radford, Va. Designed by Hord Coplan Macht to support an innovative pedagogy based on the integration of educational programs in the arts, health sciences, and technology, the 178,000-sf facility will offer classrooms, clinical simulation training suites, performance venues, studios, maker spaces, computer centers, and virtual and augmented reality labs.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute Constructs Academic and Research Facility
Worcester Polytechnic Institute is constructing an $80 million academic and research facility in Worcester, Mass. Designed by Gensler, the 100,000-sf building will provide interactive spaces for project-based education including flexible learning environments and innovation labs for collaborative development with industry and government partners.
Yale New Haven Hospital Plans Neuroscience Center
Yale New Haven Hospital is planning to build an $838 million neuroscience center on its Saint Raphael campus in New Haven, Conn. Integrating research, patient care, and medical education, the 505,000-sf complex will include two patient facilities offering 204 beds, as well as translational laboratories for the creation of innovative therapies for Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and strokes. An underground parking garage accommodating 200 vehicles will also be constructed.
CSA Catapult Opens Semiconductor Innovation Center
The Compound Semiconductor Applications Catapult opened the Catapult Innovation Centre in December of 2019 in Newport, Wales. Designed as a locus for the region’s growing high-tech industry, the facility provides sophisticated cleanrooms, a design studio, open-plan offices, a boardroom, conference and breakout rooms, a collaborative amphitheater, an advanced packaging suite, and R&D labs for photonics, radio frequencies, and power electronics.
