City of Hope Opens Specialty Cancer Hospital in Orange County
City of Hope celebrated the opening of a $452 million specialty cancer facility in December of 2025 in Irvine, Calif. Designed by HOK, the 73-bed hospital accommodates intensive care and medical-surgical units, four operating rooms, two procedure rooms, and an eight-bed evaluation and treatment center. The six-story structure also accommodates an inpatient rehabilitation gym, an immersive multifaith spiritual zone, and outdoor terraces on each floor.
Cabot, Cabot & Forbes Break Ground On The Bolt
Cabot, Cabot & Forbes broke ground in November of 2025 on an innovation, manufacturing, and research hub in Woburn, Mass. Developed from the former Industri-Plex Superfund site, The Bolt will offer leading-edge laboratory and office space for companies engaged in a wide range of sectors, including life sciences, biotechnology, energy, advanced manufacturing, and technology.
Claremont McKenna College Opens Robert Day Sciences Center
Claremont McKenna College opened the Robert Day Sciences Center in September of 2025 in Claremont, Calif. As the home for the new Kravis Department of Integrated Sciences, the 135,000-sf facility enables a transformative pedagogy organized around three overlapping foci: health, brain, and planet. The three-story structure supports a research-centered, solutions-driven curriculum, creating experiential learning opportunities for students and emphasizing the applications of artificial intelligence to real-world challenges.
UC Davis Health Opens Folsom Medical Care Clinic
UC Davis Health opened the $182 million Folsom Medical Care Clinic in August of 2025 to elevate community health outcomes across the Sierra Foothills region of California. Consolidating three existing local facilities, the 114,000-sf building offers primary and specialty care, including pediatric and family medicine as well as cardiology, neurology, hematology, and other disciplines. The three-story structure also accommodates new services for cancer patients.
University of Cambridge Opens Ray Dolby Centre
The University of Cambridge opened the Ray Dolby Centre in May of 2025 in the United Kingdom. This purpose-built headquarters for the Department of Physics, also known as the Cavendish Laboratory, will serve as a national research hub and houses the Collaborative R&D Environment (CORDE), a new facility for the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
