The University of Miami Health System broke ground in June of 2022 on the $250 million Transformational Cancer Research Building in Miami. Part of the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the 244,000-sf structure will provide the Miller School of Medicine with advanced laboratories where multidisciplinary teams will discover new modalities for cancer treatment and prevention. Incorporating ultramodern patient care facilities, the 12-story building will leverage world-class instrumentation and the latest machine-learning technologies to accelerate the translation of scientific breakthroughs into life-saving therapies. HOK is the project architect for this iconic hub of innovation and wellness, which will include eight floors dedicated to experimental, computational, and clinical research. Occupancy is expected in 2024.
