Procter & Gamble Plans Gillette Headquarters and Technical Innovation Center

Procter & Gamble is creating a new R&D facility for subsidiary firm Gillette in South Boston. Representing an investment of nearly $1 billion, the nine-story building with feature the Technical Innovation Center as well as serving as the headquarters for Gillette's grooming business. The 324,315-sf structure was designed by Payette as an integrated destination for research, engineering, product development, and administration, uniting operations currently spread over the company’s 31-acre campus.

University of British Columbia Opens Gateway Health Building

The University of British Columbia opened the CAD 207.9 million Gateway Health building in Vancouver in February of 2026. Designed by Perkins&Will and Schmidt Hammer Lassen, the 270,550-sf facility showcases a six-story atrium connecting two five-story wings. This interdisciplinary nexus provides advanced teaching labs, flexible classrooms, and four large lecture halls, with interconnecting stairs reaching from the basement to the highest level to encourage physical activity.

Dallas County Opens BSL-3 Public Health Laboratory

Dallas County Health and Human Services opened its new Public Health Laboratory in March of 2026. Strategically sited in the Southwestern Medical District, the $52 million facility offers state-of-the-art environments for the detection and mitigation of infectious agents and toxins. The 67,000-sf building centralizes lab services previously dispersed in several locations while significantly increasing capacity for testing, disease surveillance, and emergency response.

University of North Texas at Dallas Opens STEM Facility

The University of North Texas at Dallas celebrated the opening of a $100 million STEM facility in December of 2025 that will expand pathways into healthcare and science for current and future students. Addressing statewide practitioner shortages, the 120,220-sf building is a learning destination for fields such as nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, and optometry, as well as housing programs in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and neuroscience.
