The University of North Texas at Dallas celebrated the opening of a $100 million STEM facility in December of 2025 that will expand pathways into healthcare and science for current and future students. Addressing statewide practitioner shortages, the 120,220-sf building is a learning destination for fields such as nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, and optometry, as well as housing programs in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and neuroscience.

The four-story structure houses 18 general purpose “high-flex” classrooms, nine teaching labs, three research labs, outdoor study settings, and numerous venues for collaboration. Featuring modular wet laboratory environments, Stantec and HarrisonKornberg Architects’ design emphasizes adaptability, interdisciplinary connectivity, and dynamic space utilization.

The energy-efficient hub accommodates faculty offices, as well as support areas including an instrumentation suite, a cold room, and a dark-enabled room for the storage of materials in optimal conditions. On the ground floor, a prefunction zone connects to a multipurpose classroom and meeting venue capable of seating up to 250 occupants, complemented by a nearby café. Vaughn Construction broke ground on the state-funded project in September of 2023.
