William & Mary opened the Integrated Science Center 4 (ISC4) in January of 2026 in Williamsburg, Va. Designed by Goody Clancy with Baskervill as interior design architect, the $103 million facility provides a vibrant home for the School of Computing, Data Sciences & Physics, the university's first new school in 50 years. The visionary project included 124,000 gsf of new construction, augmented by 10,000 gsf of renovated space to establish a link to the existing ISC complex.

At the heart of the building, an atrium called The Hub connects all floors to foster informal exchange while serving as a multifunctional environment for social events and presentations. An 8,000-sf maker space on the ground floor offers dedicated rooms for processing hard, soft, and hot materials, along with suites for laser cutting and 3D printers. This dynamic setting for hands-on design and experimentation opens onto a “maker patio” that puts engineering on display. With 35 laboratories for teaching and research, ISC4 houses numerous small- and medium-sized classrooms, a large interactive instructional venue, and a 150-seat lecture hall. The leading-edge structure also includes collaboration spaces, study areas, flexible meeting rooms, and offices.

Catalyzing learning, creativity, and innovation, this interdisciplinary ecosystem was delivered by Skanska USA for a construction value of $81 million. Work began in February of 2023 on the project, which will drive discovery by uniting computational and applied sciences in a single location. Core Studio Design served as the landscape architect.
