Alice L. Walton School of Medicine Opens in Bentonville
The Alice L. Walton School of Medicine opened a 154,000-sf hub in July of 2025 to enable an innovative, holistic curriculum and train future generations of providers in Arkansas and beyond. Designed by Polk Stanley Wilcox to reflect changing paradigms in medical education in function and form, the four-story structure features leading-edge educational environments including simulation centers, a maker space, and a 3,010-sf anatomy resource center.
GenesisM Breaks Ground on Class A Biomanufacturing Facility
GenesisM, a joint venture between Bain Capital and Botanic Properties, broke ground on a Class A biomanufacturing facility in July of 2025 in Bedford, Mass. Designed by Perkins&Will, the sophisticated development addresses a critical need for purpose-built life sciences infrastructure in the Greater Boston region.
UC San Diego Opens Viterbi Family Vision Research Center
The University of California, San Diego opened the $152 million Viterbi Family Vision Research Center in June of 2025 at the Shiley Eye Institute in La Jolla, Calif. The 100,000-sf facility was designed by NBBJ to foster interdisciplinary collaboration with wet and dry laboratories, clinical trial suites, educational facilities, and a vivarium. Supporting leading-edge research, the five-story structure will drive advances in the treatment of ophthalmologic diseases and prepare the next generation of clinician-scientists for the workforce.
Kansas City Current Breaks Ground on Riverside Stadium and Performance Center
The Kansas City Current broke ground in July of 2025 on a $52 million soccer complex in Riverside, Mo. Designed by HOK, this vibrant destination is being developed by Palmer Square Real Estate Management and constructed by Monarch Build. The Riverside Stadium will accommodate 2,000 fans and advance women’s athletics as the primary home of Kansas City Current II. This regional hub for elite sporting events will be enhanced by a FIFA-certified, heated grass pitch and world-class fan amenities.
