In just four months, MAI Construction remodeled the subleased 44,000-sf facility to provide Asterias Biotherapeutics with leading-edge research, production, and office spaces to support the creation of innovative stem cell therapies. The four-phase project included the construction of new cGMP Grade B manufacturing labs, as well as a materials lift and canopy for the area's shipping and receiving area.
The University of Nevada, Reno is renovating the Leifson Physics and Chemistry Buildings to provide leading-edge research labs, classrooms, collaboration rooms, conference areas, and office environments. Crocker Partners is engaged in a $90 million redevelopment of a former IBM site to create the Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRiC) in Florida. Designed to foster employee engagement and collaboration, the 1.7 million-sf complex will provide Class A office space for life science and technology companies. Sited on 123 acres, the facility will include a conference center with robust audiovisual infrastructure, a business center, a 7,000-sf fitness center, a yoga studio, a catering kitchen, and a 1,200-seat multipurpose dining hall.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison is building the 54,650-gsf Center for Dairy Research. Designed by Zimmerman Architectural Studios to support collaborative development with industry partners, the three-story addition to Babcock Hall will house research labs, instructional spaces, dairy processing suites, small-scale production lines, nine rooms for specialty cheese ripening, and an auditorium for training programs and colloquia.

The 120,000-sf riverside complex offers a 160-seat auditorium, meeting and seminar rooms, informal gathering spaces, a swimming pool, a 10,000-sf fitness center, a 17,000-sf recreational gym, a 200-person event space, an elevated indoor track, and a café.
Radford University opened the Artis College of Science and Technology in February of 2020 in Radford, Va. Designed and engineered by CannonDesign, the $34 million project included a complete renovation of Reed Hall and Curie Hall, as well as construction of the connecting Center for the Sciences, a two-story collaboration hub offering meeting rooms, a commons area, study spaces, and offices.
