The University of New South Wales Sydney opened the Health Translation Hub in November of 2025 in Australia. Developed by Plenary Group, the AUD 600 million (USD 396.8 million) facility drives impactful medical discoveries to revolutionize patient care. Students at the clinical school benefit from an interdisciplinary ecosystem that directly connects future health professionals, researchers, and educators with industry partners and clinicians to foster knowledge exchange and immersive learning. Centered around an expansive, light-filled atrium, the 15-story structure features leading-edge laboratories, instructional venues, and training rooms, as well as ambulatory care clinics for community-facing health initiatives. A public plaza spanning 26,910 sf offers an inviting environment for events and informal social gathering.

UNSW has committed to occupy 65 percent of the 383,195-sf building for an initial period of 20 years. The remaining space can be leased by industry groups, allied health ventures, and investment-led accelerator programs. Forming part of the broader $1.5 billion Randwick Campus Redevelopment, the dynamic nexus leverages seamless physical and operational integration with adjacent hospitals to drive innovation in precision and personalized medicine, advanced therapeutics, longevity, and cancer treatment.

Designed by Architectus, the highly sustainable facility is targeting a 6 Star Green Star Building rating and a 5.5 Star NABERS Energy rating. The vibrant hub incorporates a 100kW rooftop photovoltaic array, a 100 percent outdoor air HVAC system, and a passive façade that reduces solar radiation by 60 percent. Built with low-VOC and low-toxin materials, the all-electric structure utilizes 100 percent renewable energy and is slated to attain net-zero-carbon emissions.
