Arizona State University is planning to construct an innovation and education hub that will act as the headquarters for ASU Health in Phoenix. Designed by CO Architects and DFDG Architecture to drive multidisciplinary discovery, the 200,000-sf facility will house the School of Medicine and Advanced Medical Engineering and the School of Technology for Public Health. Advanced clinical settings will be integrated with engineering-focused labs to create unique opportunities for students at the intersection of technology, research, and patient care.
Standing up to six stories high, the $200 million structure will accommodate virtual anatomy and clinical skills labs, exam rooms, classrooms, and a simulation center equipped with mock operating and emergency rooms. Collaboration venues will be accompanied by study spaces, administrative offices, and areas for community health education initiatives. Sited in the growing Phoenix Bioscience Core, the dynamic building will anchor the university’s new MD program and provide dedicated space for clinical affiliate HonorHealth.
McCarthy Building Companies is serving as general contractor for the headquarters and medical school. The project team also includes Meyer Borgman Johnson, Spectrum Engineers, Dibble Engineers, WSP, Bowman Fire & Life Safety, NV5, and TRUEFORM landscape architecture studio. Groundbreaking is slated for early 2026 and occupancy is expected in fall of 2028.
