

East Carolina University opened the $122 million Main Campus Student Center in January of 2019 in Greenville, N.C. Designed by Perkins+Will, the 220,000-sf facility features a 10,000-sf commons, a 250-seat black box theater, a divisible 14,000-sf ballroom, and multiple dining options. The center also offers a game room, student lounges, meeting spaces, study areas, retail amenities, a 724-space parking garage, and a massive outdoor digital display for communal viewing of sporting and media events.
The University of Hawaii - West Oahu opened the $32 million Administration and Allied Health Facility in December of 2018 in Kapolei. Designed by Perkins+Will and KYA Design Group to accommodate interdisciplinary health sciences education, the collaborative 44,000-sf facility provides nine classrooms, a computer lab, two support labs, faculty and administrative offices, and teaching labs for anatomy, cellular biology, microbiology, and organic chemistry.
The University of Wyoming broke ground in November of 2018 on the $100 million Science Initiative building in Laramie. Designed by GSG Architecture and Perkins&Will, the 153,000-sf facility will provide leading-edge research labs, imaging suites, collaboration spaces, a vivarium, a greenhouse, and a 200-seat active-learning classroom. Supporting the university's Tier-1 Engineering Initiative, the interdisciplinary project will accommodate STEM programs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The University of Ottawa opened the CAD$115 million STEM Complex in October of 2018. Designed by Perkins+Will to accommodate programs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, the collaborative 312,000-sf facility features open-plan teaching labs, a dedicated prototyping center, maker spaces with 3D printers, and an entrepreneurship hub.
